Blog Prompt #2

The most important thing that I learned in bootcamp was the concept of indebtnedness. Obviously i knew that sources had to be cited, but having it phrased as indebtedness, it helped me view the source as being more integrated into my writing, as opposed to just something merely quoted from. And overall i think this will help me writing considerably.

  1. Likewise, I have never considered citing sources referred to as indebtedness. Citing, however, is crucial. Especially now that we're in college, without citing our sources, plagiarism will go on our permanent records and what not. It's pretty much a crime. I'm glad you got that out of boot camp.

  2. It helped me learn also to not uses sources just as quotes because I need them, but to use sources to help make my essay better and provide more information, making my writing and point stronger.

  3. Helped me learn this as well. I always just saw sources as information and never as, how would you say it, "giving thanks to?" Also, just to state that they were the ones to argue it before you.

  4. I agree, I think this might be a bit of a challenge for me too because usually when I phrase a quote I write only a few sentences about it so making it more in debt is going to be a bit difficult for me. But boot camp definitely helped me with that.
